New Seven Wonders of the World

   New7Wonders of the World (2000–2007) was an initiative started in 2000 to choose Wonders of the World from a selection of 200 existing monuments. The popularity poll was led by Canadian-Swiss Bernard Weber and organized by the New7Wonders Foundation based in Zurich, Switzerland, with winners announced on 7 July 2007 in Lisbon. The Seven Wonders are as follows:

  3. The Colosseum (in Rome, Italy) – 80 CE
  4. Chichen Itza (in Yucatán, Mexico) – 600 CE
  5. Machu Picchu (in Cuzco Region, Peru) – 1450 CE
  6. Taj Mahal (in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India) – 1643 CE
  7. Christ the Redeemer (in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) – 1931 CE
